I agree with you. Most of the new manufactured homes I come across even have 2×6 construction. This, at a time when there are new homes being built in my area by large builders using 2×4 construction.

Yeah that’s nice. But have a look at the real estate crisis going on these times.. I think it’s only a matter of time until the crisis blows up the mobile home market.
It’s amazing the transformation from mobile homes to modular housing - some of those are nicer than stick-built homes and even have drywall and everything else!

Especially if you don’t have children or are retiring, the maintenance and work involved can be minimal. I think there’s more of a stereotype included with the word mobile home than there should be. It’s definitely worth a look and can offer more space, privacy and peace than a condo or town home.
I live in the south of Scotland and, for the first time ever, I’m thinking of holidaying in France in a mobile home. If it works out, I’ll even consider buying one for holidays.
It is interesting to see what the new mobile homes are looking like. We have been seeing incredible modular homes being built in our market. It can be very difficult to tell the difference between these ans stick built houses.
I agree, many new manufactured homes are a lot more luxurious than they were in the past.
Mobile homes are getting nicer! But they are still… trailers. ; )
The only downside to a mobile home is that they are a depreciating asset. While they serve a purpose it is hard to get to excited about something that will be less in 5 years then it is when purchased.
Amazingly your post suddenly changed me mind about mobile homes. perhaps I didn’t even want to think about that but links in your post are very much interactive. The site is divided into different zones there, Does it mean that they have different criteria for different zones or they have different options of homes for different zones?

mobile homes have definately come a long way and offer great selection, what are your thoughts though on the fact they depreciate in value. Oh that’s what other real estate is doing right now
seriously though mobile homes do go down a lot in value over time.
I don’t understand why everything else in the United States has been made more and more commoditized and thus cheaper (cars, computers, cell phones, just to name a few things that start with “C”) and yet there is still a stigma against manufactured homes. The only difference between a quality manufactured home and a “standard” home is that the latter is constructed on-site and former is not. How much of a premium is that really worth?
Bill, You are very right and I think everything is going to be cheaper and cheaper. Perhaps we are giving up with ‘Q’ i.e “quality life”, “quality lifestyle”, “quality standards”. We are not going to think that where something is being manufactured or built. We are just price conscious.
Interesting who would of thought you can choose your home out of a catalogue. No need to redesign, or waste days even months of your time designing your home or hiring someone to do it for you. This is very good way to save money also if you are looking for a home.

Glad to have this site to offer to a client that has chosen to look at manufactured homes due to money and time restrictions. These homes are an option for many people to own a home. And they offer the space needed for the price. If taken care of they can last many years. Thank you for the information.
Yeah…we truly believe in these new luxuary mobile homes. We are trying to promote (for Swedes) mobile homes for the Spanish market for this British company. Spanish national tv made a spot on mobile homes last week promoting it as a great example on how the stagnant real estate market are adapting to the customers needs!

Mobile homes are absolutely gorgeous these day, although nothing can compete with a permanent home these are the next best thing
Glad to read that mobile homes are available in all shapes ,styles and in different sizes.so now it is easy to select the mobile house of own choice.But i don’t think that such houses are as comfortable as the regular ones.
